RIFLE SCOPES

As you may have guessed from the website name, this site is about rifle scopes and how to choose the best one for your needs. Choosing a rifle scope for hunting, target shooting, or general plinking, use to  be fairly simple.

Not any more. With all the advances in optics and  scope technology, it can be extremely confusing now. Nowadays, you need to know what terms like variable objective, parallax adjustment, and bullet drop compensator mean before you can even begin to guess what style and type of scope you really need. You also need to get familiar with the various scope manufacturers and typical prices to make sure that you get a good deal.

Hopefully, that's where this web site can help.  Our goal is to provide some background information about scopes and how they  work. We also want to provide some information and opinions about the various  scope models on the market, and where to find the best deals on those models.

We have been in the scope business for the last  10 years and have over 30 years of hunting, shooting, and scope experience. Unlike some scope web stores, our goal is to provide you with as much  information as we can so that you can make an educated buying decision.

Rifle scopes and related optical items like  spotting scopes, rings, and rangefinders are somewhat interrelated. For example,  some items like rings and bases are designed to work directly with a scope while items like rangefinders are made to work in conjunction with the scope.

Aside from the information regarding scopes, it's  also important to understand the use and functions of other related rifle scope accessories. For example, many shooters will invest quite a bit of money into an expensive scope. Then they mount the scope using cheap or mismatched bases and rings. Even a high performance scope won't be accurate if it's not mounted to a  stable platform. Hopefully, we'll provide enough information here so that won't happen to you.
